Instant Messaging

The IceWarp Server Instant Messaging provides secure and managable instant messaging services. All users can chat, transfer files and join group conferences using a secured XMPP/SSL protocol. Distant servers can be interconnected, joining users in different locations into a single communication platform.

Transport to external or public services is also available. Thanks to implementation of the liburple open-source server-client-server wrapper, users can connect to their existing accounts on AIM, Bonjou, Gadu-Gadu, GroupWise, ICQ, IRC, MSN, MySpaceIM, QQ, SILC, SIMPLE, Sametime, XMPP, Yahoo and GoogleTalk networks (15 and counting).

The most secure and standards-based instant messaging service for in-house communication is utilizing the XMPP/Jabber open XML protocol (for more details see http://www.jabber.org/).

As for client applications, users can choose any XMPP/Jabber-compatible client - for desktop workstations we recommend PSI, available from http://www.psi-im.org/ and for roaming users, the best choice is to use the installation-free, web-based WebIM, included in IceWarp WebClient.
